2048 – the classic puzzle game
Slide tiles with the same number together so they merge into a tile twice as big. The goal is to reach 2048 – play with the arrow keys or swipe on the screen.

How to play
2048 is played on a board with 4 × 4 squares. Each move slides all the tiles as far as they can go in the direction you choose – left, right, up or down. When two tiles with the same number collide they merge into one tile with double the value, and you score as many points as the new tile is worth. After every move a new tile (2 or 4) appears in a random empty square.
You win the game when you manage to build a tile with the value 2048 – but you can keep playing and chase even higher numbers. The game ends when the board is full and no tiles can be merged any more. Your best score is saved locally in your browser so you can try to beat it next time.
A classic tip: pick a corner and try to keep your biggest tile there, for example bottom left. Then build the numbers in descending order along the edge and avoid swiping in the direction that pulls the corner tile loose. With a little patience you will get surprisingly far!
