How to play

Ordla is the Swedish version of the popular word game Wordle. A secret word of exactly five letters is chosen every day, and you have six tries to figure out which one. Type a guess using the on-screen keyboard or your regular keyboard and press Enter. The letters are then coloured: green means the right letter in the right spot, orange means the letter is in the word but in a different spot, and grey means the letter is not in the word at all.

All guesses must be real Swedish five-letter words – å, ä and ö of course count as letters of their own. A good trick is to start with words containing many common letters, for example several vowels and consonants such as r, s, t and n. Then use the colours to rule out and place letters until only one possible word remains. Since the words are Swedish, Ordla is also a great way to practise the language!

The daily word is the same for all players and changes at midnight. If you want to play more than once a day, press "Random new word" to get a random word from the word list. Your statistics – rounds played, wins and your current streak – are stored locally in your browser.
