Bikupan – the Swedish honeycomb word game
Seven letters in a honeycomb. Make as many Swedish words as you can with at least four letters – every word must contain the centre letter, and letters may be used more than once. Find the word that uses all seven letters for a bonus.
The words are Swedish (å, ä and ö count as letters of their own).
How to play
Bikupan ("the beehive") shows seven letters in a honeycomb. Make Swedish words by tapping the letters or typing on your keyboard, then press Enter. Each word must have at least four letters and must contain the letter in the centre. The other letters may be used as often as you like, and the same letter may appear several times in one word. Both base forms and inflected forms count, so BIL, BILEN and BILAR are different words – but proper names and abbreviations do not.
A four-letter word gives 1 point. Longer words give one point per letter, so a seven-letter word is worth 7 points. Every puzzle has at least one bikupeord, a word that uses all seven letters, and it gives 7 bonus points. As your score grows you climb the rank ladder from Beginner via Larva, Pupa, Worker bee, Busy bee, Drone and Bee master all the way to Queen, which you reach at 70 percent of the maximum score. Shuffle the outer letters if you get stuck – a new order often reveals new words.
Today's hive is the same for everyone and changes at midnight Swedish time. Your found words are saved in the browser, so you can come back later in the day and continue. You keep your streak by finding at least one word every day, and you can share your rank and score without revealing any words. In Practice you get random hives, as many as you like, and you can show all the answers when you give up. The word list is a curated list of common Swedish words, so a rare word may be missing.
