How to play

Shapes and colours is a playful game for the very youngest who want to learn to recognise shapes and colours. Choose between three games: in Which shape? a big clear shape appears and you pick the right name from four buttons, in Which colour? you point out the colour, and in Find them all you click every shape of the same kind on the board.

The shapes are drawn big and clear – circle, square, triangle, rectangle, star, heart, oval and rhombus – and the colours are bright and cheerful. The buttons are extra large so little fingers can tap them easily, and every answer gives instant praise or a friendly nudge to try again. The game is perfect for preschoolers and beginners who are just starting to learn the words for shapes and colours.

Each round has ten questions and you collect points and stars for every correct answer. Your best result is saved locally in your browser so the child can try to beat their own record. Because the shapes, colours and questions are drawn at random every time, no two rounds are the same – sit beside your child and name the shapes out loud together to make learning both fun and safe.
