Mahjong solitaire – match the tiles
Remove all the tiles by matching identical free tiles. A tile is free when it has no tile on top of it and an open side to the left or right. Every board can always be solved!
How to play
Mahjong solitaire, also known as Shanghai, is a single-player game where tiles are stacked in several layers. The goal is to remove all the tiles two at a time by matching identical tiles. You may only take tiles that are free – that is, tiles with no other tile on top of them and at least one open short side.
Here the tiles are drawn as clear symbols with numbers and suits (Bamboo, Characters and Circles) plus winds, dragons and flowers – entirely without hard-to-read special characters. The board is always built so that it is guaranteed to be solvable, and the Hint button quickly finds a valid pair while Shuffle rearranges the remaining tiles.
The game keeps track of the time and how many tiles you have left, and your fastest time is saved locally in your browser. Think strategically: remove tiles that free up several new moves and avoid locking yourself in by taking pairs you may need later. Mahjong is perfect as relaxing brain exercise for a little while each day.
