Word search – find the hidden Swedish words
A classic word search with Swedish words in themes like animals, food, countries, Swedish towns, jobs and sports. Drag across the letters – or tap the first and last letter – to mark a word. A new grid is generated every game, and the clock shows how fast you are.
How to play
All the words in the list below the grid are hidden among the letters. When you spot one, press on its first letter and drag in a straight line to its last letter, then let go. On a phone or tablet you can also tap the first letter and then tap the last letter. A correct word gets a coloured highlight and is crossed out in the list. When every word is found the clock stops, and if you get stuck you can press Show solution to see the words you missed.
The words are in Swedish, which makes the game a fun way to pick up Swedish vocabulary. There are thirteen themes – animals, food, fruit and vegetables, countries, Swedish towns, jobs, sports, nature, clothes, school, at home, vehicles and weather – each with more than twenty words, and the letters Å, Ä and Ö are part of the grid just like in Swedish. Choose Mixed theme to get a random theme every game. Since the grid is generated anew every time, no two games are the same.
The three levels change both the size of the grid and the directions the words can run. Easy is an 8 × 8 grid with six words that only go left to right or top to bottom. Medium is 10 × 10 with eight words that can also run diagonally. Hard is 12 × 12 with ten words in all eight directions, including backwards and upwards. Your best time for each level is saved locally in your browser as a record to beat.
