Pixel art – paint pixel art and bead patterns

Pick a colour and paint the squares to create your own pixel art – just like a bead pattern. Choose an 8×8, 16×16 or 24×24 grid, drag to fill in whole areas, and start from a ready-made template if you like. Your picture is saved automatically in your browser.

How to play

Pixel art is drawing with squares. Every little cell in the grid is one pixel, and by colouring them one by one you build up a picture – exactly the same idea as the fuse-bead plates (pärlplattor) that so many children love. Pick a colour from the palette, then click or drag across the grid to paint. Hold and drag to fill in large areas quickly.

Use the eraser to remove single pixels, or Clear all to wipe the whole grid and start fresh. You can switch between an 8×8 grid for quick simple motifs, 16×16 for a bit more detail, or 24×24 when you want to make something really elaborate. Each grid size keeps its own drawing, so you can have several pictures going at once.

Not sure what to draw? Load one of the ready-made templates – a heart, a smiley, a flower or a house – and change the colours or build on top of it. Everything you paint is saved automatically in your browser, so your artwork is still there when you come back. Perfect for planning a real bead plate or just for a relaxed, creative moment.
