Stava rätt – spell the word right

A cheerful spelling game for kids with real Swedish words and pictures. Choose the correct spelling or type the word yourself – ten questions and lots of stars! The words are in Swedish, so it is also great practice for learners. 🌟

How to play

Stava rätt is a friendly spelling game for children learning to read and write. Every question shows a big picture of a common Swedish word – a sun, a dog, a ball – so the child connects the picture with the letters. In the exercise Choose the right one four spellings appear and only one is correct; the other three contain typical mistakes such as a missing double consonant or a swapped vowel. In Type the word the child writes the whole word from the picture.

Each round has ten words with big buttons that are easy to tap. A correct answer gives a star and a green flash, and a wrong answer calmly shows the correct spelling so the child learns it for next time. There is also a Listen button that reads the word aloud in Swedish if your device supports it. Choose short, medium or long words depending on how far the child has come.

When the round is over the result becomes stars – ten correct gives three stars, eight or nine gives two, and six or seven gives one. The best result per level is saved locally in the browser. All the words are genuine, correctly spelled Swedish nouns, which makes the game a nice bit of Swedish practice for language learners too.
