How to play

Traffic signs is a quiz that helps children – and grown-ups – learn what the most common Swedish road signs mean. Each round shows ten signs, one at a time. For every sign you get four possible answers and choose the one you think is right. Straight away you see whether it was correct or wrong, together with a short, easy explanation of what the sign really means.

The signs follow the Swedish standard, so the colours and shapes are the ones you really meet out on the roads. Yellow triangles with a red border are warning signs, red circles are prohibitions, blue circles are mandatory signs, and blue squares give information. Learning to read colour and shape is a great first step – even before you can read the details you can often guess whether a sign warns, forbids or informs.

Your score counts one point for every correct answer, and your best result is saved locally in your browser so you can try to beat it. The quiz is perfect for a family car trip, for cycle training in the schoolyard, or just for a few fun minutes of learning. Play again as many times as you like – the signs are shuffled every round.
