Year of the day – put five events from Swedish history in order
Every day everyone gets the same five events from Swedish history, culture and society. Drag them into chronological order – earliest at the top – and check your answer. You have three attempts, and the events already in the right place turn green.
How to play
Each day five events are picked from a deck of 180 dated events in Swedish history, society, science and business, and culture and sport. They are shown in mixed order, and your task is to sort them so that the earliest event is at the top and the latest at the bottom. Move a card by dragging the handle on its left side, or use the arrow buttons on the right – both work well on a phone. When you are happy, press Check order.
After each check, the cards that are in the right position turn green and lock in place, while the others stay movable. You have three attempts in total. When the round is over all the years are revealed, so you learn the real order whether you solved it or not. The five daily events always come from five different years, so there is only one correct answer. The events range from Uppsala becoming an archbishopric in 1164 and the Kalmar Union in 1397 to Dagen H in 1967, EU membership in 1995 and NATO membership in 2024.
The puzzle changes at midnight Swedish time and is the same for everyone, so you can compare with friends using Share result, which copies one row of green and grey squares per attempt without revealing the events. Your streak counts days in a row solved and is stored locally in your browser. Want to keep going? Practice gives you new random sets of five events as often as you like without affecting the streak. The event texts are available in English, but the content is about Sweden.
