Guess the salary – what does the job pay?

How well do you know Swedish salaries? Guess the monthly salary for 10 random occupations – the closer you get to SCB's statistics, the more points you score.

How to play

Each round shows an occupation from SCB's official salary statistics. Enter what you think the average monthly salary is before tax and press "Guess". If you land within 5 percent of the correct answer you get 100 points, within 10 percent gives 75 points, within 20 percent gives 50 points and within 35 percent gives 25 points. After ten occupations your points are added up and you receive a verdict.

A good trick is to start from the median salary in Sweden, which is around 35 000 kronor per month, and then adjust up or down depending on how much education and responsibility the occupation requires. Management roles and specialist jobs in IT, medicine and finance are often well above the average, while many service jobs are below it.
