How warm is it now? – guess the temperature in Sweden
A live weather game: we pick a real SMHI weather station in Sweden and you guess what the thermometer shows right now. The answer is the latest hourly reading, so the game is different every hour. The station names are Swedish place names.

How to play
In Guess the temperature you are shown the name of a Swedish weather station and its position on the map. Set your guess with the slider or the plus and minus buttons, in steps of half a degree from −40 to +35 °C, and press Guess. You then see the real reading, when it was measured and how far off you were. A perfect guess gives 100 points and every degree off costs 10 points, so a guess 10 degrees off gives zero. A round has five stations, so the maximum is 500 points.
In Warmest or coldest? two stations are marked on the map as A and B. Tap the one you think is warmer – or colder, depending on the question – right now. The two readings always differ by at least one degree. A round has ten questions. Good clues are latitude, distance to the sea and altitude: coastal stations are often milder in winter, while inland and mountain stations can be much colder on a clear night.
The temperatures are live data from SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, which publishes its observations as open data under the CC BY 4.0 licence. The game uses the latest hourly air temperature from SMHI's stations and skips stations without a fresh reading. Sweden's official temperature records are +38.0 °C (Ultuna 1933 and Målilla 1947) and −52.6 °C (Vuoggatjålme 1966). Your best score in each mode is saved in your browser.
